The farm is situated in Baringo County on a 62 acre farm located at about 7kms north of Marigat town in Salabani location .Initial Sahiwal foundation breeding stock was introduced into this farm in 2007.Since then the farm has been engaged in raising quality Sahiwal breeding stock.
Sahiwal breed animals raised at this centre are known to be hardy, productive and highly marketable in the region. Animals bred and raised at this farm have excelled during livestock parade and exhibitions especially at Kabarnet branch ASK shows.
Chemeron farm was one of the 13 livestock improvement centres in Kenya which hosted the first Sahiwal bulls imported in the Country in 1962 for upgrading indigenous zebu cattle.Other centres were Ngong,Baraton,Maseno,Machakos,Chebororwa,Ndomba,marimba,Kabianga,Katumani,Naivasha,mariakani and Sangalo.
