The centre is situated in Samburu County on a 600 acre farm located at about 4kms west of Maralal Town. Established in 2016 the centre is involved in multiplication of the Sahiwal breed of cattle.
Sahiwal cattle breed is a dual purpose animal introduced into Kenya from India and Pakistan in 1939.The breed is good for milk and meat production under tropical climatic conditions. For farmers interested in milk production under unique climatic conditions Sahiwalx Aryshire cross is the most suitable dairy cow for hot and semi arid areas.
