Employee of the Year 2019-2020 Esther Cheruitich being awarded by KVDA MD Mr. Sammy Naporos

The Managing Director, Mr Sammy Naporos recently presented the award of KVDA Employee of the year 2019/2020 to Esther Cherutich; the Manager of Business Development at a ceremony held at the Authority’s Sigor training facility and attended by the Management team.

“I wish to congratulate Esther for her dedication and excellent work in her department. She has shown outstanding leadership skills and teamwork in the marketing department.” Mr Sammy said during the award ceremony. He also appreciated her success in doubling the sales of the Kerio Valley Pure Acacia Honey.

“Because of your continuous efforts, the Authority has increased its profitability in the Honey business – you are a real asset to our business department. Despite all the difficulties you have experienced in the past, you proved that it is possible to overcome the challenges and build a major success. We expect you to keep the same spirit and even set higher goals” The Managing Director said.

The Employee of the Year Award recently introduced by the Managing Director as an incentive to motivate the employees who exhibit exemplary performance. She is the first staff to be awarded search an honour.

Before being appointed as a Manager, Esther worked as a Marketing officer and spearheaded the local market analysis at Weiwei, West Pokot County, an initiative of KVDA in conjunction with Italian Cooperation for livelihood improvements. She was a Team and Strategic leader in the Rapid Results Initiative for the 1st and 2nd phase of RR1 respectively at KVDA.

She has also served in various committees in the Authority including Price and Revenue Committee, among others.  She is a member of the Marketing Society of Kenya. She has also been the Secretary to the Board of Trustees for the Kerio Valley Retirement Benefits Scheme. Currently, she is mentoring a young team of business professionals within the business department of the Authority.
